BRINGING DANCE & HULA HOOPING CLASSES INTO SCHOOLS & AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

What can we offer your school?

‘2 Groove’ Dance & Fitness offers schools a chance to run dance and Hula classes for their students from their own school hall.

We bring our classes to the children in their school and encourage them to exercise through dance and Hula Hooping. By exploring exercise through dance and music, the child’s many facilities of self-expression are nurtured.

The classes are made to suit everyone no matter what their ability

We bring new and exciting classes directly to you; this means that dance and Hula classes are more accessible and affordable to children.

The classes are based on the idea of dance and fitness as an additional resource to general education. They can be taught as an after school club, as an early morning workout, or a one-day workshop, or if required, during school hours.

LITTLE DIVAS - WHERE DANCE & FUN GO HAND IN HAND

LITTLE DIVAS CLASSES

Little Divas brings classes to the children in their school hall and allows them to exercise through dance, with fun and funky Hip Hop, Street and R’n’B moves to the latest chart tunes.

By exploring exercise through dance and music, the child’s many facilities of self-expression are nurtured.

The classes are for children of all abilities. Every class begins with a warm up, followed a routine containing different combinations of steps and dance techniques and also include an introduction to rhythms and tempos encouraging further musicality and rhythm. – They conclude with a cool down.

Once a year our ‘Little Divas’ from each school are able to take part in one of our staged performances.
The opportunity to perform to an audience provides an exciting way of helping children to develop self-confidence and social skills.

Funky dance/club style music keeps this workout moving and motivating. Easy to learn "structured freestyle" choreography allows individual interpretation and expression, that makes it easier to learn and is suitable for all levels of dance and fitness.

Each class focuses on building confidence, dance technique, strength, co-ordination, stamina and flexibility.

Urban Groovez regually compete in dance competions and perform in shows across the south.

You must have previous dance experience to join the team.

HULA GROOVE - HULA HOOPING IS THE NEWEST CRAZE

HULA GROOVE

It is becoming evident that many children are lacking the opportunity to be fit and healthy. Schools offer some activities as part of their compulsory curriculum; however, it does not cover the government activity guidelines for children needing to accumulate 60 minutes of moderate activity on a daily basis.
Hula Hooping is the newest craze; it’s innovative, exciting and fun and children will enjoy trying something different in there school.

The classes are suitable for anyone age 8 upwards, variations in style and hoop weight make it accessible for almost anyone – at any size or level of fitness.

The classes will last for 1 hour and will include dance choreography to the latest pop tunes. The weighted hoops are easier to use, so children will have more success with it. The classes also provide cardiovascular exercises with fun learning.

To teach safely and effectively the maximum amount of children per class is twenty. Should there be the need for more than one class, it would be preferable to have one class for the younger children and one for the older children.

The classes can be taught as an
after school club, as an early morning
workout or if required, as a one-day workshop during school hours.

WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS & COLLEGES

WORKSHOPS

‘2Groove’ workshops give children and young people of all ages the opportunity to experience dance and Hula Hooping, introducing them to a lasting way of keeping physically fit, let off steam and have fun!

Our workshops will focus on the exciting and current dance styles , this will include funky dance routines to the latest music.

Workshops can be used with or with out the Hoops.

The workshops can be tailored to meet the requirements of each individual school and can last from 1 hour to a whole day, length is determined by age group, class sizes and budget.

A typical class will consist of:

  • Warm-up -To avoid injury and to allow teachers to gauge the level of pupils, classes start with a gentle warm-up to music. This includes exercises to help coordination and introduces simple dance steps and rhythms to be used during the class.

  • Routine -The routine will be tailored around the overall ability of the group, depending on weather they are using the hoops.

  • Cool down -Where pupils are returning to the classroom rather than the playground or where workshop content is more demanding, the session ends with some stretching
